Our Nutrition Plans
I get asked all the time about diet and nutrition. Once, I fully embraced the healthy living lifestyle, my body, mind, and soul changed for the better! Your diet is 90% of it! The cliché of "you are what you eat" is so true! I want to provide the opportunity to learn how to eat healthier. For my patients, I strongly feel proper nutrition can both optimize recovery as well as get ready for surgery. Some patients want to lose a certain weight before having surgery. This is a nice thought, but most people who go on a "diet" (keto, HCG, etc) cannot maintain this for a lifetime! The best way to have a healthier diet is to change the way you eat! Smaller portion control, better food choices! I see it happen unfortunately despite my counseling. Patients lose thirty pounds before surgery, have surgery, then gain it all back, undoing their investment! But, I’ve also seen the opposite. Surgery inspires them to eat better and exercise to make their surgical results look even better! That for me is huge, as I know that I was part of helping someone live a healthier lifestyle.

"Two months ago I had a tummy tuck, lip and a breast augmentation with Dr. Morales. He is a phenomenal surgeon and his staff is amazing! I highly recommend him and there is no one else I would let do any future surgeries on me other than Dr. Morales!"- K.D. / Google / Aug 14, 2020
"I recently had a breast augmentation with Dr. Morales. I'm currently one month post op and I couldn't be happier with the results. Dr Morales is an amazing skilled surgeon! I personally appreciate that not only is his knowledge in the industry top notch to include his staff are most helpful the entire practice but that they really puts their patients first and go out of their way to make you comfortable. Dr. Morales takes his time with his patients, he is kind and soft spoken, and allows you the patient to be the ones to ask the questions you need answers too. I did a lot of research in the Houston, TX area for a plastic surgeon that I felt I could trust. I am very pleased to have him as a doctor. I would really recommend him to anyone seeking to have a procedure. Dr. Morales and his staff also conduct a you tube video blog on some of the procedures he does. Check them out. You'd be surprised at what you learn prior to having a procedure done. Thanks for the ultimate 43thd birthday gift! Dr. Morales and Staff! You all are amazing!"- B.C. / Google / Aug 13, 2020
"I recently had a tummy tuck with Dr. Morales and he is an outstanding surgeon, you can tell he loves what he does. He really puts every ounce into each procedure to ensure that all of your wants in the outcome are what you are looking for. He was extremely informative as well as understanding, and reassuring from my consultation all the way up to my 8 week post op visit. Not to mention that his bedside manner is impeccable. Linda is also extremely informative, patient, and is amazing about getting answers to your questions in a very timely manner. All of his assistants are super sweet, and listen to your concerns. I could not have chosen a better surgeon and team!!"- M.M. / Google / Jul 07, 2020

"I had surgery with Dr Morales on 4/14/22 after losing 80lbs. My procedures include: extended tummy tuck with muscle repair, lipo to back, braline, flanks and my neck. I had a Bbl, and a breast augmentation; silicone implants. I knew right away during my consultation I didn’t want any other physician doing my procedure! He was thorough when examining me, and after I expressed concerns, he was very honest with me about procedures I did not need, and that’s what I love about him. Instead of just taking my money, he explained the why’s, and ultimately that’s something rare to find. His knowledge in all procedures, his bedside manner and great staff made me feel super comfortable from A-Z. Scheduling my procedure was a breeze. Linda, his patient coordinator, was very patient with me when scheduling my procedure, and was very prompt in responding to my emails. I went in for my pre-op appt about 2 weeks prior to my surgery. I saw his staff member Yaritza, who explained what I could expect post surgery, and was even given a bag of post surgery goodies! She was very patient with me when taking my pictures, as this was something that made me very shy. I was sized again for my breast implants to help me decide on my size. He came in with his assistant Claudia to reassure me about my size, discuss my procedure again in more detail and to let me know I was not alone. Going into the surgery center was a breeze! Instead of feeling anxious, I felt so comfortable. I was greeted by young lady named Christine who took my vitals and walked me Into one of the recovery rooms. She was very very sweet. I then saw the nurse Becky who started my iv. She was very knowledgeable and quick. I was seen by dr morales prior to my surgery to confirm all procedures, and have him mark me all up. :) I walked into the OR, and everyone greeted me in. The anesthesiologist was amazing, and heard my concerns about previous anesthesia. Post op days were not as bad as I thought! This was huge for me, as I am a mother of 4 and always on the go! Soreness here and there, but nothing I could not handle. Anytime I had questions, his assistant Claudia was quick to put me at ease!! She answered every message! Definitely exceeded my expectations. I went in for a one week post op, and was seen very quickly after checking in! I was greeted by an assistant named JJ who removed my drain. Very painless and she talked me through the entire thing. She stepped out, and during this time I was seen by His assistant Yaritza, same young lady who did my pre op consent appt. She wanted to say hello, ask how I was feeling, and instructed me on implant massages. Shortly after, the Dr came in with his assistant Avilene and Claudia. He explained what I was cleared to do and explained what he saw during the procedure. I was again, given a bag a post op supplies that I begin to use after week 1. Linda also stopped by to say hello! :) I return in 2 weeks and all I can say is HE IS AMAZING! Definitely, definitely recommend Dr Morales and his entire staff! They make you feel comfortable, at ease, and treat you like friends. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for my surgery needs! I hope they get a chance to read this, because they have all been superb."- L.P. / Google / Apr 21, 2022

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this included in my surgery?
No. However, I strongly recommend this for larger surgeries such as tummy tucks, massive weight loss combined procedures, and mommy makeovers. I believe the caloric and dietary requirement is higher and a balanced meal plan will optimize your recovery from these larger procedures. A pre-surgery and a two-month post-surgery plan are included. Maintenance plans afterward are on a subscription basis with Juliana. These nutrition plans are optional for smaller procedures, such as breast surgery, liposuction.
Can I get meal plans without having surgery?
Yes! Juliana is an expert nutritionist and can help you with healthier nutrition. Whether your goal is to lose weight or just feel better.
Are diet pills safe to take?
There is no such thing as a magic pill! These medications often have stimulants and are effective in the short term, but won’t last. Many are not FDA approved and can have serious side effects. Nothing is as effective to lose weight as eating healthier and exercising.
Do I need to count calories?
This is a common question asked and considering weight management equation states when you eat more calories than you burn you gain weight and when you eat fewer calories than you burn you lose weight. The only problem is counting calories is not that simple. For long-term success, you will rely on developing and using your inborn signaling systems hunger and appetite.
Do I have to measure and weigh my food?
To be successful it’s important you follow your meal plan customized for you. The portions in your plan are calculated for you to help you reach your goals. After a couple of weeks of prepping your foods, it will become second nature to portion your food with measuring tools.
How long do I have to follow my nutrition plan?
This depends on Dr. Morales’s weight loss recommendation. You will start with your pre-surgery nutrition plan followed by a post-surgery plan. From start to finish you will learn how to plan and prep your meals along with healthy behaviors for a sustainable way of eating. Ultimately, we want to help you build life-long skills and incorporate daily practices to improve your health, body composition, and performance in order to maintain your new body.
What if I don’t lose the weight in time for my surgery?
Your program includes check-ins to keep you on track. If you plateau, Juliana will reassess your plan and make adjustments if needed.
I heard carbs are bad, should I avoid them?
Carbs are one of the three macronutrients your body needs to thrive. Carbs are your source of energy and it is important to understand a moderate amount of quality carbs are good and can help you recover better and optimize your progress. Quality carbs like whole grains, some fruit, sweet potatoes, beans, legumes, etc are good in moderation. Processed carbs like bread and pasta are best left out of your plan.
