What is RF Skin Tightening?
Houston, TX area patients who are concerned about skin irregularities such as wrinkles and loose skin may consider radiofrequency (RF) skin tightening. Morales Plastic Surgery offers a nonsurgical alternative for facial rejuvenation with RF heat. The ThermiRF is a technology that is one of the biggest breakthroughs for the anti-aging market. Houston, TX board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Rolando Morales, offers this service and is proud to introduce ThermiRF to his patients. Also known as "Symphony RF," this wrinkle reduction and skin tightening treatment can target the subdermal layer of the skin, which is the deep internal layer. ThermiRF uses a controlled temperature approach to heat the internal layers, which in turn helps produce new collagen for a smooth result on the surface.

Patients who want to treat cellulite, loose skin and wrinkles, but are not ready for a surgical procedure may consider ThermiRF. Currently, this technology is being used for cellulite reduction in the thighs and abdomen. It is also used to lift and tighten loose skin in the lower face and neck, as well as under the eyes and on the forehead. It can be used on pretty much any area of the body to treat a number of issues. In addition to cosmetic treatment, it is also used to address excessive sweating and reduce the function of certain nerves, similar to a wrinkle relaxer treatment.
ThermiRF is performed in-office and does not require anesthesia. Dr. Morales will mark the target areas, apply a cool gel to the surface of the skin, and gently roll the skin with a small circular hand piece that emits RF waves. The energy waves targets the tissue just below the skin’s surface.
They are sent through a tiny probe that distributes bursts of radiofrequency energy, heating the tissue to a desired temperature hot enough to stimulate the production of collagen.
What To Expect
During treatment, although the patient will feel the heat from the laser device, patients generally do not feel any pain or discomfort. The treated areas may remain red and swollen for several hours after the procedure, but patients can otherwise resume their normal activities. Results start appearing within a few hours of treatment, but it takes several months for the full effect to become visible as the collagen production does its work. Some patients may require multiple treatment sessions. Results can last up to 1-2 years.
ThermiRF will vary in cost depending on what areas of the body are treated, as well as the number of sessions it takes to attain the desired results. Patients addressing the area under the eyes will obviously pay less than those who are targeting larger areas such as the flanks and thighs. On average, the total cost is $500+ per treatment area. Most patients can expect to pay between $1,000-$8,000.
