WHAT IS AB ETCHING FOR WOMEN?
Though proper diet and exercise can be helpful in achieving the defined abs you've always dreamed about, sometimes these solutions alone will not be enough. Sculpt your abdominal muscles at Dr. Morales Plastic Surgery in Houston, TX to give yourself a more toned appearance. Dr. Rolando Morales performs female abdominal etching by excising fat from the stomach in order to enhance the visibility of the abs. The best candidates for abdominal etching for women are in good general health and desire well-defined abs without the intrusive scarring that can be associated with other alternatives.
How is Female Abdominal Etching Performed?
Abdominal etching utilizes a high-definition liposuction technique. The procedure artistically removes and sculpts fatty tissue under the skin to create a more pleasing contour of the abdominal area. Prior to the procedure, detailed markings will be made on the patient’s abs in a flexed position. Once it begins, small incisions will be made within the natural contours of the abdomen, which will reduce the visibility of any potential scars. Fat is then removed and/or thinned through these incisions in order to accentuate the ab muscles, as well as the linea alba, the line running down the center of the abdomen.

Most of our patients are able to return to their normal daily schedule within about one week. Frequently asked Questions About Female Ab Etching
WILL I HAVE A "SIX-PACK"?
For the ideal candidate, no! Most women do not desire the “hard etch” that men desire, which is often a well-defined six-pack. The soft etch is more feminine and is more naturally appearing for most women who want to look more athletic. Women who have had a six-pack and already have muscle tone present typically see the greatest results.
IS LIPOSUCTION ALWAYS NEEDED?
Generally, yes. The excess soft tissue and fat will likely need to be removed using a liposuction method. However, there are several liposuction techniques to consider, including less invasive methods that use a mechanism to help your skin become tighter on the chest wall. Dr. Morales will discuss each of these methods with you during your initial consultation.
WHAT ABOUT SCARRING?
We hide the Incisions for this surgery within natural creases of the body. They are usually placed in between the lines of the abdominal muscles and are usually small enough that there is minimal scarring. Eventually, the lines of the incisions will diminish, and in most cases, almost completely disappear.
