Breast Augmentation

Let's Get Started

Breast augmentation is one of the most common procedures we perform in the United States. It is by far the most common procedure I perform personally. I have a focus on breast surgery. It's really one of the most rewarding procedures I perform. I can help improve the self-confidence, improve their self-esteem.

Typically, when patients come to me, and they're interested in breast surgery, they're really interested in improving their proportions in hips, to their breasts, and their shoulders. They want to be a little more natural appearing. After having babies, they deflate. Or it could just be improved volume based on what they were born with.

Breast augmentation, you have three different planes or different pockets where we can place an implant. The first pocket is under the breast. It's called a subglandular pocket. That's directly behind the breast tissue. The second pocket is completely under the muscle.

Then the third is more of a hybrid, which is called a dual plane, halfway under the muscle, halfway under the gland, and so you get the best of both worlds. You have a nice, soft, natural shape on the lower pole of the breast. The placement of the implant partially under the muscle at the top of the breast enhances the volume and the projection, and it protects the implant from the rest of the breast tissue. In that placement, we believe that the long-term result of a breast augmentation will be prolonged. That's the common technique that I'd use for my breast surgery.

Women are typically preferring a silicone implant when they want a more natural appearance. When they're very, very thin, and it's hard to hide the breast implant, because they don't have enough breast tissue, silicone products tend to look a little more natural appearing.

Expected cost for a breast augmentation ranges anywhere between $5,000 to $6,000. Typically, the cost difference is usually between a saline and silicone product, and if there's any other adjustments of the breast shape, the breast tissue, any kind of asymmetries that may or may not be required at the time.
