CASE DESCRIPTION: Patient presented for evaluation to improve the appearance of her abdomen after massive weight loss with diet and exercise. She also had abdominal laxity from previous pregnancies. She was unhappy with "stretched out tummy" with saggy excess skin and stretch marks. The after pictures below are two months from extended abdominoplasty with muscle tightening (anterior rectus fascia plication). She had a full recovery, and has returned to all her lifestyle activities. PROCEDURE NOTES: Extended Abdominoplasty with anterior rectus fascia plication for diastesis (muscle separation of the midline) repair. Exparel (longterm local anesthetic) was injected during the procedure to reduce postoperative pain and reduce amount of pain medicines required in the recovery period.
