Will I Have Eyelid Bruising And Swelling?
Bruising and swelling are the biggest recovery aspects because there is minimal pain to this procedure. The eyelids are very sensitive to trauma/surgery. Dr. Morales has a detailed postoperative protocol involving head elevation, cold application, and medications to minimize the swelling. Most patients should have minimal residual bruising and swelling at two weeks post-procedure.
When Will I See Final Results?
While patients will notice improvements soon after eyelid surgery, final results typically become visible around two months post-procedure when the majority of swelling and bruising has fully subsided. At this point, the eyelids will look more natural, and the refreshed, youthful appearance will continue to improve as healing progresses over time.
Can I Wear Makeup?
Most patients are able to resume wearing makeup about two weeks after surgery, once the incisions have healed sufficiently. It’s important to avoid using makeup earlier, as it can increase the risk of infection or “tattoo” makeup particles into the healing incisions, which could lead to complications. Can I Wear Contacts?
Although vision is generally not affected by eyelid surgery, the eyes may feel dry or irritated in the first few weeks, requiring the use of moisturizing eye drops. Most patients can safely wear contacts again around two weeks after surgery, once the initial swelling and discomfort have subsided.
