What Size Butt Implant Should I Get?
The “right size” butt implant depends on the way your buttocks are shaped. Dr. Morales will examine your body shape to see if you are a square, round, pear, or inverted triangle. Then, he will make a recommendation based on your current shape, anatomical variances of your pelvis and spine curvature, and aesthetic goals.
Unlike breast implants, which are placed partially under the muscle, the buttock implant is placed partially into the muscle. This allows for larger implants than those placed completely under the muscle by surgeons. Butt augmentation with implants is performed under general anesthesia in our outpatient QUAD A-accredited surgical center. Dr. Morales will perform liposuction first, then create pockets for the implants, expertly position implants, and finish the procedure with fat grafting.
Positioning
You are positioned face down (prone position) for butt augmentation to provide Dr. Morales with optimal access to the buttocks. This allows for the precise creation of the implant pockets and the proper placement of the implants. It also ensures that the implants are positioned correctly within the gluteal muscles or beneath them, depending on the chosen technique, which is crucial for achieving a natural-looking and symmetrical result.
Implant Process
Dr. Morales makes two small incisions, usually hidden within the natural crease of the buttocks to minimize visible scarring. Then, he carefully creates a pocket that is on top of the muscle of the upper buttocks and within the muscle of the lower buttocks, ensuring a more natural result and allowing for larger implants. Dr. Morales’ meticulous implant technique allows for larger implants than surgeons who place implants completely under the muscle.
Implant Preparation
Implants are rinsed with triple antibiotics and placed using a Keller Funnel®. This advanced approach inserts the implants with minimal handling, reducing the risk of contamination and damage.
Fat Grafting
If your procedure includes fat grafting, Dr. Morales may perform this step last, injecting fat around the implants to further enhance the shape and contour of the buttocks.
Closure
