As one of the area's highly skilled cosmetic surgeons, Dr. Rolando Morales offers brachioplasty at his plastic surgery centers in Houston and Katy, TX. This procedure, also known as an arm lift, removes excess skin, sometimes called “bat wings,” from the elbow to the axilla. It is a very powerful contouring procedure that significantly improves the patient’s ability to fit into clothing. Most men and women seek an arm lift after significant weight loss from diet and exercise, a gastric bypass or gastric sleeve procedure. Patients interested in an arm lift should be at their stabilized, ideal weight.
"Great experience - I am overwhelmed with the experience with Dr Morales. He is the only doctor I had consultation with, prior to my surgery, and I made immediate decision to chose him as my plastic surgeon. He made me feel as comfortable as possible during every visit. The surgery went really well and I was given the best care by Dr. Morales and his team. I would definitely recommend anyone to chose Dr Morales."- P. / RealSelf / Mar 23, 2017

"Breast revision/augmentation, 575cc to 800cc - Dr. Morales is the real deal.....Magnificent, young, a complete artist in the breast department. It is difficult to find a doctor who actually listens and tells you how it is, whether your expectations are unreasonable or if it can be done, always with pure professionalism. He takes his time, explains, research and works his magic. I couldn't be happier with my results, I knew the day I went to my initial consultation that I had found that one doctor. His staff is amazing, Linda, all of them are great and make sure you leave happy, never make you feel uncomfortable. Not only top doc, top notch!"- R. / RealSelf / Feb 15, 2017

He looks you in the eye when talking to you and is very honest about the expected outcome. When he is with you for an appointment or on the day of surgery, he makes you feel that he has all the time in the world to answer any questions you may have. I sent an email with a couple post op questions and Dr. Morales personally answered me back very quickly. Phone calls are also returned in a timely manner. During the Surgery@headingTag>
An arm lift is performed under general anesthesia in a hospital or outpatient facility. The procedure could take between 1 and 2 hours to complete. The arm lift may be performed with other body contouring procedures, such as a tummy tuck or breast lift. However, there is a limit to how many procedures can be performed at once safely. The surgeon makes an ellipse excision of skin at the posterior medial aspect of the upper arm. If there is additional excess skin, an additional excision is made in the axilla. The scar is well hidden in the posterior medial aspect of the arm.
Dressings are typically applied over the incisions and carefully wrapped in a supportive bandage. There are typically no sutures to remove because there are multiple layers of self-absorbing sutures below the skin. Small, outside suture tails are usually trimmed within 7-10 days. Strenuous activity and heavy lifting will need to be avoided for several months. It can take a few months for all of the swelling to clear up, and the scars will fade over time.
The average cost for an arm lift procedure is between $5,500-$7,000. This price will increase if the surgery is combined with another body contouring procedure.

Arm Lift FAQs@headingTag>
The upper arm lift is often combined with other body contouring procedures, such as a breast lift, tummy tuck or liposuction. However, there is a limit to how many procedures can be done at the same time safely as it relates to surgical recovery and amount of time the surgery takes.
It is very unusual for insurance companies to approve this procedure. Insurance companies often require that there is documented symptoms, such as skin breakdown, infections, and limiting normal activity.
